Homeless Prevention & Rapid Rehousing
|
HPRP (Homeless Prevention & Rapid Rehousing Program) is part of President Obama’s stimulus program and is funded through the Department of Housing & Urban Development. In the City of Buffalo, the program is known as Buffalo Housing Opportunities Program – or BHOP.
This program assists qualifying households with limited rental and utility payments in order to prevent an episode of homelessness. Qualifying households would have an income below 50% of the area medium income, have a qualifying housing crisis and lives in the City of Buffalo.
To apply, applicants would call Crisis Services at 716-834-3131. Crisis Services does initial screenings and will refer potentially eligible households to a case management agency, one of which is the Matt Urban Hope Center.
The Matt Urban Hope Center DOES NOT take walk-ins or applications directly.
